Frequently asked questions about weddings

No wedding question is too big or too small. If your question is not answered below please contact us and we’ll do our best to give you all the answers.

What are your opening hours?

The nature of the business means we do not have a fixed working day. In addition to normal office hours, some evening appointments are also available Mon-Thurs. The studio is often unattended so all visits are by appointment only.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?

Chris has photographed well over 1000 weddings. Christopher Hill Photography has been established in Burnham Bucks since 1988.

How far will you travel?

We cover weddings throughout the UK. Destination weddings overseas are also possible but the requirement of a work permit may restrict working in some countries.

How many photos will you take at a wedding?

There is no guaranteed minimum number of images that will be taken, but there is no ceiling either. Every wedding is different. There are also several factors that contribute to how many images are taken, such as coverage option booked, time allowed for photography, willingness and availability of subjects on the day, the package chosen, the weather, and the number of requested groups on the ‘must have’ list!

As a very loose ‘guide’, we regularly deliver 50-60 images for each hour attended.

How many photographers will we get?

Chris mostly works alone and prefers this so he knows exactly what has been captured. However, if you would like a 2nd photographer, we can usually source one from our group of allies at additional cost.

You will get full printing rights so you will be able to print, copy and share your images as much as you like for your personal use. To help prevent fraudulent use of the images or theft etc. Christopher Hill Photography will retain copyright.

You may not use or sell your wedding photographs for commercial/profitable gain.

How long before we see our photos?

We normally provide a sneak peek on the blog and social media within a few days. The full set of edited images are normally ready to view & download within 2-3 weeks. However, during peak season it can get very busy, so it may take a little longer, but not much.

Will our images be 'Photoshopped'?

All images will be checked for correct colour and density. Some images may be given a little extra ‘sparkle’ but this will be subtle so it will not be obvious it has been ‘Photoshopped’.

Digital re-touching of non-permanent spots or skin blemishes may be carried out free of charge at our discretion.

Requests for other retouching, including removing tattoos and body shaping, are chargeable.

Whilst we aim to please, we reserve the right to decline manipulation orders.

We are very private people. Is it ok not to put our photos online?

Yes of course. Whilst we love to post our favourite pictures, and fresh content is important to keep us topical, we will also respect your privacy if requested. Let us know before the wedding and we will not post a blog or social media.

We are having a very small wedding. Can we book for 1 or 2 hours?

Small mid-week weddings (Mon-Thurs) may be booked by the hour (min 2 hours).

Weekend weddings (Fri-Sun & Bank Holidays) can be booked from as little as 3 hours.

Can we come for a chat and see some album samples?

Chris loves to chat about weddings! You are very welcome to make an appointment to visit the studio.

We have a variety of sample albums at the studio. Most of these are complete weddings so you can visualise how a full day can appear in an album. We offer a wide range of album covers and colours.

Please contact us to arrange an appointment

Do you offer an engagement shoot?

We offer a complimentary engagement photo-shoot with all wedding bookings, including one free print. This is the perfect ‘ice-breaker’ and particularly beneficial for the camera-shy.

There is no cash alternative to this complimentary offer.

Do we need to feed you?

Feeding the photographer(s) is not a condition of booking. However, many couples do choose to provide food if Chris is there for the full day, and this is always very much appreciated.

Are you insured?

Yes. We have Professional Indemnity & Public Liability insurance.

Are you DBS checked?

Yes. Chris holds an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Do you have parking at the studio?

There is plenty of free parking at the studio.

What are your payment terms?

A booking fee of £300 is required to confirm your wedding date in the diary.

The 2nd instalment, 50% of the outstanding balance, is due 4 months prior to the wedding.

The final balance is due not less than 14 days prior to the wedding.

Do you accept credit cards?

Our preferred method of payment is bank transfer but we do accept most credit/debit cards.

We regret we do not accept cheques or American Express.
